THE RULES ARE SIMPLE. THE MAZE IS YOURS.

Make them take
the long way around.

Deskbound is a free browser tower defense game inspired by the desktop classics. Your towers are both weapons and walls: where you place them shapes the path ground creeps take.

  1. 01

    Draw your defense

Select a tower, then click or drag to plan a row. Release to build. Leave a route between every entrance and exit.

  2. 02

    Send the first wave

Earn gold by stopping creeps. Extend the maze, strengthen your towers, and keep an eye on the next wave.

  3. 03

    Adapt and survive

Flying enemies ignore the maze. Armor, splitting creeps, and wall-hoppers demand a mix of weapons. Clear all 50 waves to win.

NINE WAYS TO HOLD THEM BACK

PLAN AHEAD. KEEP BUILDING.

A little preparation
goes a long way.

Queue towers before you can afford them. Turn on auto-upgrade to grow a key weapon as gold comes in. Select any creep to inspect its health and see whether your current defenses are likely to stop it.

Start with Easy’s single entrance, take on Classic or Hard, or experiment in Sandbox with 10,000 gold.

BEFORE THE FIRST WAVE

Good to know.

Is Deskbound free to play?

Yes. The full single-player game runs in your browser with no download, purchase, or game account.

Is this the original Desktop Tower Defense?

No. Deskbound is an independent recreation inspired by Desktop Tower Defense, originally created by Paul Preece and The Casual Collective. It uses fresh code and graphics and is not an official release.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?

The game supports touch controls and adapts to smaller screens. A desktop or laptop gives you more room to plan a maze and use keyboard shortcuts.

Will my game be saved?

Your current run stays in this page while it is open. Refreshing, leaving the game, or closing the tab starts a fresh run. There are no cloud saves or online leaderboards.

What are the keyboard shortcuts?

Use 1–9 to choose a tower, U to upgrade once, Shift + U to auto-upgrade, S to sell, N for the next wave, Space to pause, and Esc to deselect.
